Terms of Service.
Effective September 1, 2026
These terms cover everything you buy or enter through winprint.co: limited-edition canvases from the Artist Series, custom canvas orders through the configurator, auctions, and the monthly draw. WinPrint is a sole proprietorship operating from The Sandbox at 6177 Highway 6, Winlaw, British Columbia. Placing an order or entering a draw means you accept what follows.
Orders and acceptance
An order placed on the site is an offer to buy, not a completed contract. We accept it when we send an order confirmation. We may decline an order — for stock, pricing errors, delivery limits, or artwork we are not able to print — and if we do, any payment taken is refunded in full.
Prices are shown in Canadian or United States dollars depending on the market selected on the site. Canadian orders are subject to GST and, where applicable, PST. Taxes and shipping are shown before you pay.
Payment
All storefront payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see, handle, or store your card number. A failed or reversed payment cancels the order.
Face-to-face and email jobs handled directly with the studio may be settled by cash or e-transfer against an invoice. Those arrangements are made in writing and are not part of the storefront checkout.
Custom canvas orders
Custom orders are made to your specification and are not returnable for change of mind. You are responsible for the file you upload: its resolution, its crop, and its content.
Where a proof is required, production does not begin until you approve it. Once you approve a proof, or once printing has started on an order with no proof step, the order cannot be cancelled or altered.
Canvas is a textured material and eco-solvent ink sits differently on it than pixels sit on a backlit screen. Colour will vary from what you see on your monitor. This is a property of the medium, not a defect.
Artist Series editions
Each Artist Series edition is five canvases, numbered 1/5 through 5/5. Number 5/5 is given away by public draw. The remaining four are offered for sale at the price the featured artist sets.
- Editions are never reprinted. When an edition closes, it is closed.
- Every canvas is signed and numbered by the artist. No canvas ships unsigned.
- Where a signing leg has not yet happened, fulfilment waits until it does. We will tell you if that affects your delivery date.
- Unsold editions stay listed indefinitely. There is no countdown and no artificial scarcity beyond the edition size itself.
Auctions
A bid is a binding offer. We verify a payment card when you register to bid; the card is not charged by the act of bidding. If a bid is placed inside the final five minutes, the auction extends by five minutes, and keeps extending until five minutes pass without a bid.
The highest bid at close wins and becomes an order. Settlement is arranged directly with the studio. We may cancel a bid or a bidder where we have reason to believe the bidding is not in good faith.
The monthly draw
No purchase is necessary to enter. The draw is open to residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory, excluding Quebec. Where a skill-testing question is required, the selected entrant must answer it correctly.
One prize per draw: canvas 5/5 of that month's edition. The prize has no cash value and cannot be substituted or transferred. Full rules for the current draw are published on the draw page and govern where they differ from this summary. We select the winner by physical draw at the studio and contact them using the details supplied at entry. If a selected entrant cannot be reached or does not meet the eligibility conditions within a reasonable period, we may select another.
Delivery
Delivery is free by hand within the Nelson–Castlegar–Slocan Valley corridor. Everywhere else in Canada ships by carrier at the rate shown at checkout. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees; a canvas is printed, built, stretched, and finished by hand and we will not rush a piece to hit a date.
Risk passes to you on delivery. Please inspect the piece on arrival.
Damage, defects, and returns
If a canvas arrives damaged or a stretch loosens, tell us within 30 days of delivery with a photograph and we will reprint or re-stretch it at our cost. For an Artist Series edition, where a replacement would breach the closed edition, we refund instead.
Custom and made-to-order pieces are not returnable for change of mind. Nothing here limits your rights under the British Columbia Business Practices and Consumer Protection Actor the Sale of Goods Act.
Artwork and intellectual property
You keep every right in artwork you upload. By uploading it you confirm you own it or are licensed to reproduce it, and you grant us a limited licence to print, produce, and ship it to you. You agree to cover us against any claim that printing your file infringes someone else's rights.
Artists featured in the Artist Series retain copyright and moral rights in their work. Buying a canvas buys the physical object, not the right to reproduce the image.
The site, its writing, its photography, and the WinPrint name remain ours. We will not print material that is unlawful, hateful, or that we judge we should not put our name to, and we will refund rather than argue about it.
Liability
We do not exclude liability for death, personal injury, or fraud. Otherwise our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applying in it, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction.
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the day you order, and the effective date at the top tells you when it last changed. Material changes do not apply retroactively to an order already accepted.
