Andreas Tiedemann brings over 25 years of experience to Western Canada’s urban art scene as the featured artist for the August 2026 Winprint Monthly Series. Evolving from his roots in graffiti, his dynamic practice spans from vibrant public murals to sculptural installations. Inspired by ocean creatures and alien worlds, Tiedemann employs a highly physical, music-driven creative process. He is known for utilizing unconventional tools—such as bug sprayers and a unique dish soap masking technique—to blend chaotic textures with precise brushwork, ultimately aiming to activate public spaces with raw, organic energy.

Aaron Brown is a Canmore-rooted artist whose practice spans tattooing, painting, digital art, and public installation. With nearly two decades in tattooing, he has developed a style grounded in strong traditional fundamentals while pushing into more illustrative, dynamic, and experimental territory. Alongside his tattoo work, Aaron creates fine art that blends digital process with physical finish, often exploring the space between technology, craftsmanship, and human touch. His work reflects a commitment to originality, long-term quality, and making images that hold both immediate impact and lasting presence.

Jon Chale (Free Rein) is an artist from Kimberley, British Columbia, creating work that blends bold graphic energy with an intuitive, improvisational hand. Under the name Free Rein, Chale builds images that feel both spontaneous and intentional—where strong shapes, punchy contrast, and loose-line confidence carry the composition. The work often sits in the space between illustration and fine art: expressive, character-forward, and designed to hit fast while still holding up under a longer stare. Rooted in a practice of experimentation, Chale’s pieces move fluidly across themes and formats, guided less by strict rules than by momentum and instinct. The Free Rein approach prioritizes motion, attitude, and visual rhythm—letting the image lead, then refining until it lands with clarity. The result is a body of work that feels alive: direct, playful, and unafraid to be a little strange in the best way.

Bryn Stevenson is a Kootenay-based artist whose work blends luminous color, bold mark-making, and inspired by natural beauty. Moving between abstraction and symbol, Stevenson builds images that feel discovered rather than designed—like fragments of the larger world surfacing through paint. Their compositions often carry a sense of heat and atmosphere: layered fields, energized edges, and forms that suggest terrain, bodies, or celestial phenomena without resolving into a single narrative. Rooted in the rhythms of the Kootenays—seasonal light, vast weather, and the tension between wilderness and home—Stevenson’s practice is driven by curiosity and experiment. Each piece functions as a signal: part landscape, part dream, part artifact. The result is work that reads intuitively first, then rewards longer looking with depth, texture, and quiet intensity.
